ATXTurf Announces New Line of Artificial Turf Glue Made for Batting Cages and Sports Turf Applications.

Most artificial turf projects require some amount of Turf Glue.  Whether you seaming together 2 pieces of turf, securing one piece to concrete or repairing older turf, turf glue is necessary.  

Turf glue can come in many sizes, containers, colors and application methods.  The ATXTurf team has created a line of turf glue packages designed to meet the specific needs of our customers.

Glue Cure Time

As the video demonstrates, ATXTurf Glue  has a fast curing time.  It begins to “tack up” and harden within half an hour in moderate temperatures and humidity levels.   

Why is cure time important?   When glues take a long time to cure, you run the risk of the turf moving around due to accidental traffic or wind.  This in turn can create unsightly seams and edges.   As turf installers, the obvious benefit is that the job can simply get done faster, saving time for turf installation crews and busy DIYers.  After 30 minutes, ATXTurf Glue is cured enough to begin walking on the turf or begin brushing in rubber infill when needed.

Turf Glue has historically come in 5 gallon buckets to cover roughly 180 feet of seam.  This was, in part, by design as 5 gallon buckets are readily available and over roughly one seam of the 160’ wide football field seams every 5 yards.

Tubes 28 ounce tubes of glue are also common for repairs and smaller areas and require the larger caulk guns.

We decided to create our kits with the smaller 10 ounce tubes as many homes already have the smaller caulk tubes in the garage or shed, used for other home improvement products.  Additionally, if you don’t need all of the glue, the remaining glue will keep much longer in unopened smaller tubes than half empty, open tubes.

We also provide 1 gallon bags of glue which covers 50 ft of seam.  The bags are resealable, easy to carry and don’t damage as much in transport as the 5 gallon buckets.

We’ve made pre made kits available for 30’ and 70 ft seams with the glue tubes, black applicator trips and appropriate length seam fabric rolls.

What Surfaces Does the Glue Work On?

ATXTurf Glue works on brick, concrete, metal, plastic, stone and wood.

Glue Color

As you can see in the video.  The glue is black.  Traditionally most turf glues are white.  We believe the black glue is much more forgiving when the glue gets into the fibers, as it is less visible than white glue.
