Installation Instructions:

🧰 What You’ll Need
LVP flooring (click-lock or glue-down)
Underlayment (if not pre-attached)
Utility knife or vinyl cutter
Tape measure
Spacers (for expansion gap)
Rubber mallet + tapping block
Pull bar (for edges)

🏠 Step 1: Prep the Subfloor

This is the most important part.

Floor must be clean, dry, and flat
Fix dips greater than ~1/8″ over 6 feet (use floor leveler)
Remove carpet, tack strips, debris
Acceptable surfaces:
Concrete
Plywood/OSB
Existing tile (if flat)

Key point: LVP will show imperfections underneath—don’t skip leveling.

📏 Step 2: Plan Your Layout

Measure room width and divide by plank width
If your last row will be less than ~2″, trim (rip) the first row narrower
Stagger joints at least 6–8 inches
Let planks acclimate in the room for 24–48 hours

🔲 Step 3: Install First Row

Start along the longest, straightest wall
Use spacers to maintain a 1/4″ expansion gap
Lay planks according to manufacturer direction (tongue/groove orientation varies)

Important: Keep this row perfectly straight—it controls the entire install.

🔗 Step 4: Install Remaining Planks

Angle each plank into the previous row, then press down to lock
Use a tapping block and mallet if needed (gently)
Stagger seams (avoid lining up joints in adjacent rows)
Work row by row across the room

✂️ Step 5: Cut Around Obstacles

Score with utility knife and snap the plank
Undercut door jambs so flooring slides underneath
Use templates for vents, pipes, or irregular cuts

🔚 Step 6: Final Row & Finish

Cut final row to fit (leave expansion gap)
Use pull bar to tighten the last row
Remove spacers
Install baseboards or quarter round
Add transition strips where needed (doorways, other flooring types)
