We prefer the 8mm thick pad as it matches up best next to turf. Our 5mm padded turf looks great next to 8mm rubber flooring as the half inch pile turf on 5mm rubber pad turf lines up well for a nice transition. The turf starts out just a bit taller than the 8mm rubber flooring but overtime turf, like any carpet, compacts and becomes a bit “shorter.”
